like: At this many weeks the baby has a heart beat or something?

I would really like to know at how many weeks the baby struggles away from the doctor trying to murder it.

I have to think of a bill that I would like to see passed and present it to the class in Civics, and my bill is that I want abortion to be illegal in the US except in the case that the mothers life is in danger

If your just going to answer this question with a debate, then I must ask you give at least one fact.

I know I’ve asked tis before, but though I’ve gotten many answers, I have very few facts.

The best thing to do is google and research it yourself. That way you have your sources and you’ll feel good about doing the work yourself. I forget the exact week, but it’s very interesting how they have a heartbeat so soon in the womb. Good for you for taking a stand for abortion. It IS murder. So many woman out there can’t even have children, but yet so many more are vacuuming these babies out of them when they’re so many woman desperate to have their own children that they would do anything to be able to conceive!!! This just breaks my heart thinking about it, it’s very sad. Mothers- if you are thinking about getting an abortion, please research the facts. Maybe that will change your opinion. Google pictures, that will REALLY move you. If your not ready to have a child, give it to somebody who will love and nurture it- but don’t kill it, the baby deserves to live despite whether you want it or not. So many couples will gladly take the "burden" off your hands with open arms. Stop using abortion as a form of birth control!

I know that there are alot of people out there who are against abortion for many different reasons. I believe it is your choice to have an abortion or not. Therefore when your time comes to make that choice you should make your own decision. I do not believe however that people should set their opinions on anyone else. I believe everyone should be considered pro choice – meaning make your own choice and don’t worry about anyone elses. I personally don’t care if someone is against abortion for whatever reason.

Ok so here is my question – If you are against abortion: Do you believe that a girl who is raped and becomes pregnant should not get an abortion even though she was impregnated against her will? Also, do you believe that a girl who is impregnated by incest should have that child too even though both incest and abortion according to you are wrong? I guess what I’m asking is what according to you is more wrong?

It is not an easy desicion, probably the hardest you will ever have to make, but sometimes its the only one. I don’t ever apologize for my views. I just am curious to see the extent of people who are anti abortion.

I use to think I was totally against abortion period, Then my 15 year old daughter was raped in Germany. They had the pill for immediately after rape to take and again the next morning. It thins the lining of your uterus so that an egg can’t attach itself to start the growing process. I found myself almost yelling for them to hurry and get that pill to her. They had to ask me to calm down.
I was quite surprised at myself.
I still think a regular "accidental pregnancy" can be brought to full term and then given up to adoption if necessary.I think half of the world was accidents. Including Presidents, Doctors, preachers and many many Grandmas like me…..LOL Lyndall

It’s a women’s body…but every single law that talks about abortion is written by men from the bible to modern law…but doesn’t it annoy women that men are so concerned about abortion but care really nothing else about womens rights/health. I mean whether abortion is wrong or not it, men really shouldn’t have any say in the matter but for some reason they are the one’s who fight to establish laws and morality regarding abortion.

"Picking up a tab"? What is this dinner? That just goes to show how inconsiderate some men are with this whole abortion thing, just because there is a procedure to terminate it, doesn’t mean it is like a fast food place, one minute you are (pregnant) and the next your not, it is not a quick fix for things and it is certainly something that impacts tons of lives daily. There are TONS of implications on a woman’s body and mind that are pertinent with being pregnant. Regardless of whether you are pro-choice or pro-abortion there is always a lot to consider when finding out your pregnant and I feel that although men are half that create a baby, women should have more say in the laws regarding their bodies and health.

Some women have had multiple abortions. Would it have not been more responsible to just abstain from sex or use birth control? Human life is dignified, has great worth or it is precious.

yes. Having one abortion is irresponsible, but having multiple is even worse. The reason humans ( and animals alike) have sex is for reproduction purposes (not saying that that is the only reason people do it…obviously) so why should someone be surprised if they are doing it and get pregnant? That’s how it works!!! Even if they were on birth control and got pregnant that is absolutely no reason to get an abortion. If a women thinks she is responsible/old enough to have sex then she needs to accept the consequences of that, no matter what.

Edit: I don’t quite agree with the above statement about what are acceptable reasons for abortion, because I only think they should if it is certain that one or both of them will die if they go through with the birth. If it is going to be born into poverty, give it up for adoption. If it is from a rape, give it up for adoption. A child should not be killed because the sins of their parents.

Chinese parents are permitted only one child, and they face mandatory abortion if a second child is conceived. Yes, it’s very consistent with its official atheism, as is their persecution of practitioners of various faiths, imprisoning and sentencing to labor camps those who belong to faiths that do not support their communist regime.

Here in the US, the women who are forced to have an abortion are given political asylum. There are still debates raging about whether their husbands should be extended the same courtesy. A very recent case is in the news about this. Both parents should gain political asylum, because children need both their father and their mother.

China keeps its citizens from knowing much of what actually goes on. There are many in China who have family members who were taken away for being part of one faith or another, or for some other infraction. I have a classmate who is from China. Her parents and aunt were taken away by the government for being practitioners of Falun Gong. Her father was released becasue he is not a practitioner. Her aunt was sentenced to hard labor. The current whereabouts and fate of her mother is still unknown because the state will not tell family members, so she has been sending all of her money that she can home to help hire a lawyer.

We’re absolutely horrified by the way China treats its citizens, by the female inficide and the sex-selective abortions that their system encourages, something that has not helped their overpopulation problems. Abortion ends a pregnancy. this can happen several different ways. The one method I will address is called RU486, which is a medical abortion, performed no later than 5 weeks gestation, compared to a 7 week gestation minimum requirement for aspiration(surgical abortion). Medical abortion is two fold. Step One: Determine pregnancy has occurred, and which stage of development. Take a pill consisting of a progesterone blocker. Progesterone is the growth hormone needed to develop humans. Step Two: Return 2 days later and take 2 more pills. These pills start the contraction of the uterus, which in turn passes the pregnancy vaginally, much in the way that a miscarriage, or a heavy period is passed. This can last up to 2 weeks, with the largest portion being passed within a few short minutes, ofetn in the privacy of your own home. Return in 2 weeks to determine that pregnancy has evacuated completely. If it is not complete, aspiration may be necessary to avoid infection. The total cost runs around $500. The positives to this procedure include…no need for surgery. Less chance of infection. Able to abort earlier in development. Ability to pass in the privacy of your home. Ability to see exactly what is coming out of your body. RU486 was manufactured in France, and took several years for it to become available in the US. Many erroneously confuse RU486 with the morning after pill. It is an abortifacient. Hope that helps

My bigot cousin has 2 children but she’s had four abortions. I say bigot because she is against full equality for gay and lesbian couple namely same-sex marriage. She’s a religious woman but has had abortions and is against same-sex marriage. The only argument that someone would have to deny gays marriage is religion but religion is also against abortion. I’m not an advocate of abortion per se but I believe in a woman’s right to choose. I believe a woman should use discretion when it comes to abortion and not use it as a form of birth control. There are too many contraceptives and birth control for that. The only time I feel a woman should consider an abortion is if the baby will be deformed, born of rape or incest, or if the pregnancy could be fatal to the mother. But I won’t deny them that right and nor should they deny a gay the right to marry. Marriage is a human right. So God says it’s alright for you to kill but God forbid society let a same-gender couple in love marry. I say she’s a hypocrit. What do you think?

Well, I believe that a woman can get an abortion if she is three months pregnant or under. And a teenager can get an abortion without parental consent. You can get more information by surfing the net or get a copy of your state’s laws.
