Should paid adoptions be legalized to reduce the number of abortions?
November 42009
There is an adoption shortage which has made it extremely difficult to adopt children. At the same time, numerous babies are being killed in abortions. Wouldn’t legalizing paid adoptions help with both the adoption shortage and abortion problem?
First off, babies don’t get killed in abortions. Fetus != Baby.
Second, funding for adoption makes sense, but I’d just rather provide funding for abortions, so there aren’t such large numbers of small people around to adopt. I’m kind of sick of kids.

We already get a tax credit for adoption and it is pretty substantial. About 20k. That usually covers the lawyers and agency fees.
ohh are you saying pay the mother? That’s kind of weird… you can do the surrogate thing…

Wouldn’t that just encourage poor young women to get pregnant just to get the cash?

Baby selling.
You want to legalize baby selling.
Almost as bad, you want to legalize baby buying.
Sorry, not gonna happen.
Not going to, and shouldn’t happen. It’s wrong on so many levels.
Adoption is a big issue.
There’s a reason there’s a shortage.
It’s a pain in the behind and half the time you get your heart broken. Between the rights of the birth parents, the birth parents families, and at any given time they can change their minds?!?
Your solution doesn’t address the sad truth of child welfare laws.
It doesn’t make adoption easier.
And, I’ve learned, adoption freaks kids out. You don’t address the emotional and psychological parts of adoption.
Besides, there ARE paid adoptions.
In certain circumstances, people get an income for their adopted kids.
You see how well it’s working?
IT’S NOT!!!
Maybe a better solution would be pay people to get their tubes tied (BOTH men and women). Or at least stay on some sort of birth control.
This is going to get me many thumbs down, but there is the over population problem to consider.
Every baby born is contributing to global warming and other environmental harm. Pretty soon, we won’t have enough room to live, air to breath, water to drink and all the other "doomsday" senarios that the media scares us with everyday.
