It seems that if the babies being aborted had a voice, they would be strongly against it. What is all this pro-choice bs ? People legally killing weaker individuals. That is not democracy, that is war. The unborn do not have a vote, so while most Americans may be closet anti-abortionists, they see abortion as the democratic right of an individual to do whatever they want.

and what do these pro life americans propose? that abortion is banned? that women have THEIR right to decide taken away from them? that women should be forced against their own will? it’s so ridiculous!

The UN want abortions available for women in all countries because it stops them going to fake, unqualified "doctors" to have them done on the backs of alleys like what used to happen! It’s simply unsafe to not allow abortion as an option for women in a country.

I believe you. A couple of years ago I heard on the news that even 67% of all Democrats are against abortion.

Part of the problem is that social services like welfare, social security, unemployment compensation and section 8 housing have lessened the need for Americans to have large families like they did a century ago.

I hate to think that getting rid of social services is necessary to combat abortion — they truly are helpful programs for some people — but the cold reality may be that all Americans will stop supporting abortion only when government social services are no longer available to them. It could happen some day. It would only take several very conservative Republican administrations in a row to do it.

I would agree. Most people are agaisnt abortion, they wouldn't have one. BUT they are pro-choice. Most people don't say they like the idea of killing possible future life, but most poeple aren't so keen on telling people what to do with their bodies. I don't know to many people "pro-abortion."

I believe all of us are somewhat against ending the life of a fetus. This isn’t a choice you can remain nonchalant about. It should remain a choice as we have free will and cannot tell someone what to do with their body (even with a fetus growing inside of them). It’s frustrating, but I’ve been there and there’s nothing you can do if that’s what they want. The UN does needs to mind their own business though, I feel abortion shouldn’t be so easily accessible-it needs tough restrictions so that people won’t be irresponsible about sex and can respect and be responsible for their consequences of creating another human life.

Tougher restrictions on abortions will make it harder for people to get them as an "easy way out" of an unplanned pregnancy. I am not pro-choice or pro-life, but personally would not abort a child.

I’m Pro-Choice though,I nor the government have no right to tell anyone what they can or can not do with their bodies.And bringing up God and what he "said" again.separation of Church and Government/Politics

Most Americans favor abortion---solidly. But it is true that there was a recent poll that said that 51% of Americans are against late-term abortion (that is, abortion after the sixth month of pregnancy). This poll is only marginally relevant, because there are perhaps less than 100 of these types of abortion performed each year. Compared to the 1.25 millions abortions that are performed per year, this is nothing. Most Americans favor abortion.
