How often is abortion used as birth control?

Do women get abortions for the same reasons they take birth control pills? If so, why do people say abortion shouldn’t be used as birth control? Isn’t that what it is?

ive never seen it being used any other way, that’s what it is anyway. a form of birth control. lets not pretend.

The Presidential power here is limited to choices for the Supreme Court. And abortion should be very low on the list of criteria for choosing a President — it’s a big bad world out there.

In my opinion, there is no difference. Abortion is a selfish act. Pro- Abortion activists love to say that a fetus is not a baby but just because the fetus has not fully formed does not mean it is not a human life.

For example just because a catepillar is not fully formed doesn’t mean that it is not alive. If it allowed to live it turns into a beautiful butterfly.

Life starts at conception.

I agree. Abortion is selfish unless a person ABSOLUTELY NEEDS IT. other than that it’s selfish. Aborting a baby just b/c you’re not ready to be a mom is selfish. As a former fetus I oppose abortion. A fetus is LIFE.

I try to give around $5,000 per year to organizations that give women in states like Mississippi free transport and lodging and abortions, since it can be tough for them to travel to the nearest abortion facility.

That amount of money pays all the expenses of about 5 women per year. It’s not a huge number, but it certainly does help.

That is great! I don’t give any money since I’m currently my own charity case, but I hope to donate as I can in the future.

What a teen should do about being pregnant is be educated, prevention is worth so much! Hopefully, sex education will improve (no more abstinence only) so that less will find themselves pregnant due to ignorance.
1. She should really sit down and think about what would be right for her. Two futures are at stake, she needs to consider if she can emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially support a pregnancy. If yes, she should consider if she wants to put it up for adoption or keep it, keeping the good of everyone in mind. She should talk to a doctor and hopefully an adult she can trust, and hopefully a supportive boyfriend. But everything doesn’t always go that way.
2. Abortion should always be an available option. Making abortion illegal reduces women to incubators, turns the beauty of pregnancy and childbirth into something ugly and forced, and does not even reduce abortions, statistically. It is truly a very personal choice that when it comes down to it, is up to the woman/teen. The government should not govern reproductive choices, and neither should ignorant zealots on their high horses. Good luck on your study.

I don’t know what your situation is or how difficult it would be for you to have the child, but I do not want you to go through pain or regret. Once you make this decision, you can never bring your child back to life. I do not want you to live with regret, wondering what would have happened if your baby was still alive, how you would be raising her, taking her to birthday parties, or combing her hair in the morning.

What is the moral difference between abortion and miscarriage?

Considering that there are many ways to cause a miscarriage, some intentional, some unintentional, if abortion is to be thought immoral — and this is not my opinion — what is the moral status of a miscarriage when the mother or those around her could potentially be the cause for the miscarriage?

I think if people knew how comparable a fertilised egg is to a parasite – going as far as to trick the mother’s immune system into ignoring it and convincing the body that it is the most important part, to be maintained no matter the cost to the mother – they would keep their nose out of it and consider it entirely her decision if she chooses to terminate.

At this point you have to disregard what your instincts tell you to do – ie: protect the thing that looks like a baby – and pay more attention to your own needs. Is this thing incubating inside you going to effect your life? Is the process of incubation what you want?

I don’t understand why "pro-life" proponents seem to think that a woman’s body is forfeight the instant you becomes host to potential offspring.

How soon after I get my abortion will my morning sickness stop?

I am about 6 weeks pregnant and I have horrible morning sickness. I’ve lost 15 pounds since I got pregnant. I am getting an abortion next friday. I would ask a Dr but I don’t know any and don’t want to pay. How soon after getting the abortion will I stop barfing? When will the hormones leave my body?

Ignore the morons.

You should be able to ask these questions of the doctor performing the abortion or the nurses there.

I was unlucky enough to have severe morning sickness at 5 weeks pregnant, and the day after the abortion it was almost completely gone. I would expect morning sickness would only last at most a few days after the procedure.

It can take weeks for the hormones to leave your body.

How do i help my friend to understand how serious an abortion is?

My best friend is pregnant and she is getting an abortion. Abortion is the best option for her at this time so i am not questioning whether she should keep the baby or not.
She just seems to be taking it so lightly and even laughs about it, she doesn’t understand an abortion is serious. How can i make her see how serious it is and what she is actually doing without talking her out of it?

If u know she’s doing the right thing why do you want her to feel guilty about it? If she’s confident in her decision I don’t see why she has to stress over it.

Abortion is not important, at all on the federal level

There were nine men who decided the issue, the Supreme Court of the United States. They ended the political debate that was happening in every state as they wrestled with the issue. It should be a states issue, as it is not expressly granted to the Federal government.

The basic point is that in a free society, you should have the choice to choose.

Social liberals support the right of the mother to choose to terminate her baby.

Social conservatives support the right of the baby to choose to not be terminated by it’s mother.
