Birth control prevents pregnancy, so abortion isn’t birth control.

No, women don’t get abortions for the same reasons as they take birth control pills. They take birth control pills to avoid getting pregnant; they get abortions to terminate pregnancies.

People say abortion shouldn’t be used as birth control are confused, since it isn’t.

The purpose of both abortions and birth control pills is to prevent birth, so yes. I think what people mean is that abortion shouldn’t be used as an alternative to contraception; pregnancy should be prevented rather than ended.

For many women, having an abortion is a very difficult decision and will affect them for the rest of their lives. But there are increasing numbers of women having repeated abortions, which shows that some do use it instead of contraception.

don’t listen to the other people.
I believe in abortions! I’m not sure if you can or will even want to drive after the abortion so i would possible call a taxi to take you and pick you up? or have a friend drive you, stay and take you home. Even though you believe in abortions it might be emotional and draining to have one so have a friend take you and pick you up just to be good…and if no one supports this have the father of the kid take you i mean he got you pregnant the least he could do is take you to have an abortion or suffer paying child support for the rest of his life

i would suggest putting an ad on craigslist. something like ‘getting an abortion on the 20th at such-and-such clinic, any girls wanna carpool? gotta prius big enough for 5, not including our fetuses’

The same people who use abortion as birth control – in lieu of other methods – tend to be the same people who get their furniture from rent-to-own stores. It shows a lack of foresight, and a poor grasp of statistics.

Every time. That’s what it is. A form of controlling when you give birth. By killing the fetus you control it and decide you will not birth it.

The only exception is medical abortions, in which the mother wants the baby but she will likely die if she continues the pregnancy. That’s not the same.

Since abortion is a means to prevent birth, every abortion is birth control.

When people say that women are using it as a method of birth control, it’s code for, "By my standards, your reasons for having this done aren’t GOOD ENOUGH."
